trying something new

I've never created a lay out from a sketch before, but when I saw the sketch over at Elle's Studio I knew the perfected photo to go with the simple design. So, here is my take on it!

It's the little things.

I'm the type of person that loves to make little notes or cards and surprise people with them.  My best friend is usually the victim! ha! She is a good sport about it though.  We have ben best friends for a little over six years now and I couldn't be more thankful for her.  One day at work I was playing around in photoshop and got the idea for this cute keep calm poster.  If there is one thing she loves it's dogs, and more specifically she has a curent love for french bull dogs.  So I came up with this cute 3.5x5 picture and framed it in a simple frame.  To expres my appreciation even more, and to use up my constant growing washi collection, I made this cute little card to go along with it.  I wrote a little note on the back of the card.

Scrap time is play time!

I've decided that I have (dare I say it) too much scrapbooking supplies that  I never use yet I continue to order new products as they come out.  While I can't promise myself that I will stop buying everything (it's a weakness I tell you!)  I can promise myself that I am going to stop with the excuses and start scrapbooking more regularly and start putting a huge dent in my stash.  If awesome moms with families to take care of can kind time to scrap so often so can I!! So with that being said here are two pages I created at the beginning of the week! Now I'm off to clean, do laundry and scrap some more!
Thanks so much for looking!!

It's been too long.

I just got back from a trip to FL to see my dad and little brother.  While I was down there we took my little brother to Disney World for the first time.  Unfortunately, it didn't do much for him but I on the other hand, loved it!  It was nice to embrace my inner child for a day! ha!
I took my instax camera to the park with the intention of taking multiple pictures but walked away with only one.  As soon as the picture developed I knew I wanted to create a layout using the new Studio Calico July kit patterned papers... I am kind of in love with that blue and white triangle paper!!  After gathering a few of my favorite papers and that amazing Ormolu badge this is the page I came up with!  I got stuck in the middle of this page but with some encouraging words from a fellow scrapper I was able to continue on! I love the way scrapbooking makes me feel, it's such a happy and fun experience!
